Purrs and Playin' Paws Pet Sitting and Dog Walking Company, LLC was lovingly established in January of 2023. The company services within 20 miles of a residence in Forest Hill, MD. It covers almost the entirety of Harford County, small portions of Baltimore County and York County. Bonded, insured and FEAR FREE Certified! By the end of October 2025 the company's employees will be Pet CPR + First Aid Certified. The company happily offers drop in visits between the hours of 5:4am to 10:15pm with rates starting as low as $15.00/15 Minute Visit for a single pet household. For our more active pets we offer as long as 45 minute visits! Additionally overnight care (strictly 9pm-6am) is offered for pets who have separation anxiety, incontinence or gastrointestinal issues, or are on specific medication routines, etc. The company SOLELY offers care in the CLIENTS HOME .
SERVICES OFFERED
- Regular Midday Dog Walking (Clients at work)
- Irregular Care (Concert, date night, football games, day out at Hershey Park, defined as the client is away from home and pet for less than <24 hours)
- Vacation Care (Caring for all pets within the home while client is away over 24 hours)
- Overnight Care (a full 8 or 12 hours staying at your house)
- Medication Administration
- Nail Clip + File $12.00 (Established Existing Clients ONLY)
I do not charge my clients extra for holidays nor last minute requests or really for cancellations (as long as it is not a habit) and your pet will have ONE sitter.

Meet the Owner - Leah K. Jockel
Thank you for considering my company Purrs and Playin' Paws for the care of your pet(s)! The company is now in its third year!
I have worked in animal care since 2019 and have always had an affinity for treating animals with compassion - recognizing them as equal creatures to us who also have a soul and emotions. The human-animal bond is my favorite part of life and I deeply hold the idea that an animals' trust is a thing to earn and is maintained with kindness, routine and gentleness.
Growing up my family has had a variety of pets including cats, chickens, dogs, horses, frogs, hermit crabs and parakeets. I grew up in Fallston, MD but have also lived in Buffalo, NY, Linthicum-Heights, MD, Stewartstown, PA (where the business started) and Bel Air, MD.
Career wise I started as dog walker with another local company in 2019 and worked my way up the ladder, my positions have included being a veterinary boarding caretaker at a feline specific hospital, a veterinary receptionist/assistant and then nurse, a grooming salon assistant manager, a veterinary receptionist/customer service department manager and I have worked briefly at a senior dog rescue (which housed dogs with complicated medical needs, behavioral situations and hospice care) and a large volume dog daycare.
Currently I reside in Fallston and Forest Hill. I am the fur mom to FOUR cats - Lilly Bell, Red, Rosie Bud and Sage, and TWO dogs - Drake (the yellow lab plastered all over the website ) and Scrappy <3
