SHARED JOBS

Purrs and Playin' Paws Pet Sitting and Dog Walking Company, LLC will not share the duty of caring for a pet(s) while a client is away on vacation with the clients’ family members, friends, neighbors, other pet sitting companies or person under the age of 18.

It is a liability risk to the company to share the care of pet(s) and responsibility of the property with someone who is not an animal care professional to our company’s standards.

*In unique situations, a waiver can be signed. 

**This policy also applies to any irregular requests (defined as the client will be away less than a 24 hour span but not a regular midday dog walking client) when medication is involved.

CARE FOR SEIZURE PRONE PETS  

I unfortunately do not feel comfortable caring for pets with seizures, epilepsy, vestibular disease (and undiagnosed but obvious diabetes, pets clearly at end of life or any similar issue). I have declined all requests from potential clients in the past.  My reasoning is because seizures can be very dangerous if a person is not present with the pet at the time of it. My business does not offer multi-hour care during the day, so said pet would be alone for several hours. The pet could become injured, left in its own urine or fecal waste, or have a seizure so long it causes neurological damage, pets can also become aggressive during or when coming out of a seizure causing injury to fellow pets or the caregiver. I do not feel comfortable assuming this risk. I am sorry to decline requests like these but I will have to recommend a facility that offers 24 hour medical supervision/boarding. 

Audio/Visual Recording Devices

It is the obligation of the client to alert the employee of Purrs and Playin' Paws if ANYONE is to be on the property or in the home during the time of service, and to share where audio and visual recording devices are located. The pet sitter reserves the right to decline the visit if they feel uncomfortable or are surprised by the presence of unknown people or recording devices. If it is discussed ahead of time, the pet sitter is obligated complete the visit.

 Acceptable Collars

Due to our Fear Free standards and moral beliefs, Purrs and Playin’ Paws Pet Sitting and Dog Walking Company, LLC is unwilling to take on clients who utilize prong, electric shock collars, collars that produce high pitch noises only the pet can hear or any sort of choke chain collar on their dog for training purposes. The exception is shock collars worn ONLY when going outside in a yard with an underground electric fence.

Free Range Autonomous Cats Barn Cats

We cannot care for outdoor/barn/stray cats that have free reign/total autonomy. Additionally we will not take on clients who keep their dogs outside. 

 SMALL ANIMAL CARE 

Clients must include all pets that reside in the home on their new client electronic form. this includes filling out their basic information, feeding instructions, allergy information and medications needed.
If a client is away from the home for 24 hours + all small animals within the home will be charged for PER VISIT. NO EXCEPTIONS. *see pricing information on pricing page*
Small animals will be checked on for health status, will be ensured adequate food and water, a cleanly cage and provided human interaction/enrichment at ALL VISITS. I will NOT IGNORE small animals. 

COLD/INCLEMENT WEATHER 

Dogs will not be exposed to elements in the following conditions:  

15 Degrees and under = No longer than 15 Minute Walk 

16-20 Degrees = No longer than 20 Minute Walk

21-45 Degrees = No longer than 30 Minute Walk

46 Degrees and above = 45 Minute Walk acceptable

*bigger dogs of certain breeds may be allowed 45 minutes 31-45 degrees depending on other precipitation conditions/wind chill.  

Icy conditions, wind chill, freezing rain and downpour of rain are evaluated at visit.

Extreme Heat Policy Will be posted when applicable.
